Prof. Esra Tatar graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Pharmacy in 2001, and completed her Ph.D. in 2009 in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department of Marmara University. She has continued her studies as a faculty member in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department and her research interest focuses on design, synthesis, characterization and chemotherapeutic evaluation of heterocyclic organic compounds derived from amino acids. Prof. Tatar conducted her postdoctoral research on computer-aided drug design at Cardiff University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences between 2019-2020. She has 28 publications, mostly in SCI-indexed journals. She has held the position of vice-editor of Journal of Research in Pharmacy, the official scientific journal of Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy since 2012. Between 2020-2022, she served as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Marmara University. Prof. Tatar’s publications have received over 1150 citations so far and her h-index is 16.
