Specialist Dietitian Duygu Açan graduated from Marmara University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2019 and completed her Master's Degree in Nutrition at Istanbul University- Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine in 2022 and gained the title of specialty. In addition to following clinical patients in Cerrahpaşa during her master's degree, she has been working in the field of bariatric surgery for about 5 years and has been providing preoperative and postoperative nutritional support for individuals with obesity. Obesity and comorbidities (type 2 DM, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular diseases, etc.) are of special interest, and she has been in a multidisciplinary team with different surgeons and hospitals and provided nutrition education and follow-up of patients. She is a member of the Turkish Dietetic Association, Turkish Obesity Research Association, and Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Dietetic Association.
