What are the symptoms of cat scratch fever?

The most common symptoms include a small bump or lesion at the scratch/bite site followed by tender, enlarged lymph nodes near that area. Fever, fatigue, poor appetite, and headache can occur. Some people may also experience sore throat, night sweats, or generalized aches. Redness, warmth, or fluctuance over a lymph node may suggest suppuration (pus). Eye redness, light sensitivity, or vision changes can indicate ocular involvement and should be evaluated promptly. Symptoms typically appear 1–3 weeks after exposure.
