Does Bartonella ever go away?
In immunocompetent individuals, infection often resolves over time without lasting problems. However, some people may experience prolonged symptoms, and recurrence-like patterns are occasionally reported, often related to immune status and risk factors. In immunosuppressed patients, Bartonella infections can be more persistent and may require longer treatment and monitoring. If symptoms are prolonged, atypical, or worsening despite care, reevaluation and further testing may be needed.
