Turkey consumes an average of 1 billion liters of fruit juice annually. That’s approximately 11 liters per person per year. In comparison, the European Union averages around 20 liters/year, and in Germany, it's even higher at 30 liters/year.

Turkey is one of the world’s largest fruit producers. However, this position is now threatened by climate change. For example, due to frost damage this year, fruit production is expected to drop by as much as 50%. Such a dramatic decrease directly affects many industries—chief among them is the massive fruit juice production sector.

With fruit juice consumption stagnating over the last decade and raw material supply becoming increasingly problematic, the industry is now forced to innovate. Innovation is the key to high added value—now more than ever.

The Winds of Change: Healthier, Smarter, Cleaner

In the early 2000s, per capita fruit juice consumption in the U.S. was around 45 liters. However, due to increasing concerns over sugar content, this number has dropped by more than 50% by 2025. This trend clearly shows: the fruit juice sector must evolve through innovation.

 To me, this isn’t just a wish—it’s a necessity.


Likewise, I strongly believe that plant-based proteins, just like collagen, should be readily available in drinkable formats. This would make them easier to consume and integrate into daily life.
