Does magnesium improve beauty/skin?
Claiming magnesium directly “makes you more beautiful” isn’t scientifically precise. However, magnesium may support factors that indirectly influence appearance—sleep quality, stress balance, and muscle/energy regulation. If someone is truly deficient, correcting that can improve overall well-being, which may translate into looking and feeling more refreshed. Skin health is driven more by sun protection, adequate protein, omega-3s, zinc, iron, vitamins A/C/E, and lifestyle factors such as smoking, alcohol, sleep, and chronic stress. Magnesium fits best as a foundational nutrient within that bigger picture. If hair shedding or skin issues are significant, it’s also wise to evaluate iron/ferritin, thyroid, and vitamin D status.
