What is the dopamine diet?
The phrase “dopamine diet” is used inconsistently online, and there is no single scientifically standardized protocol. Usually two ideas get mixed: (1) nutrition that supports building blocks involved in neurotransmitter function (adequate protein/tyrosine, B vitamins, iron, etc.), and (2) reducing rapid reward spikes from sugar and ultra-processed foods. The most sensible version is balanced protein intake, fiber-rich carbs, healthy fats, consistent meals, and breaking the constant snacking loop. The aim is not to “increase dopamine,” but to stabilize reward patterns. Sustainable eating habits and lifestyle design are safer than extreme diets or supplement-driven claims.
