Does not eating at night help you lose weight?

Avoiding nighttime eating can be a powerful lever because late snacks are often calorie-dense and low in nutrient quality. Late meals can also worsen reflux and sleep quality; poor sleep increases next-day appetite. So “night fasting” may help indirectly via both calorie control and better sleep. However, it won’t cause weight loss if daytime intake is excessive. A practical approach is balanced earlier meals, a lighter dinner, and finishing food 2–3 hours before bed. If night hunger is strong, increase protein and fiber at dinner and avoid under-eating during the day.
