What cleans the mouth?
Effective oral cleaning is primarily mechanical: brushing removes biofilm from tooth surfaces, and floss/interdental brushes clean contact areas. Saliva is the natural cleansing system, so hydration and dry-mouth management matter. Mouthwashes can be supportive for specific goals (fluoride for high caries risk; antiseptics short-term when indicated), but they do not replace brushing and interdental cleaning.
