Who should not use resveratrol?

Resveratrol is not automatically appropriate for everyone. Certain groups require clinician review before use.\n\n1) People on blood thinners/antiplatelets: With warfarin, DOACs, aspirin, or clopidogrel, potential bleeding risk is a concern. Supplements are often reviewed before surgery or dental procedures.\n\n2) Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Human safety data are limited, so routine supplementation is generally discouraged.\n\n3) Hormone-sensitive conditions: Resveratrol’s interaction with estrogen pathways is debated; individualized decisions are important in hormone-sensitive histories.\n\n4) Liver disease or multiple medications: Higher interaction/metabolism uncertainty—medical approval is advised.\n\n5) Children/adolescents: Insufficient evidence for routine use.\n\nBottom line: It’s less about “never” and more about “don’t start without a professional risk–benefit check.”
